Two ways to drink from one cap — a wide chug opening and a covered straw. One body then serves two kinds of buyer without a second model.
When one body has to serve two kinds of buyer without a second model.
A silicone-sealed spout under a screw cap. The specification that matters is the gasket, which is where cheap sip lids fail after a few hundred cycles.
A bottle that goes in a bag and has to come back out dry.
The cap parks on a magnet instead of swinging loose on a hinge, so it stays out of the drinker's face while they are moving.
Wide-mouth bodies where a hinged cap gets in the way.
A straw that slides open under a thumb and seals closed again. Chosen for driving, riding and anywhere a second hand is busy.
Driving, riding, anywhere a second hand is busy.
A hinged straw in a low-profile cap. The simplest straw build we make, and the cheapest to tool.
A straw bottle where the silhouette matters as much as the straw.
Lid colour is counted separately in the minimum, exactly like body colour. A body in one colour with a black lid and a body in one colour with a steel lid are two counts, not one — which is why lid colour is worth deciding early rather than at the sample stage.
Configuration
| Configuration | What the buyer is really asking for |
|---|---|
| Screw | A cap that seals and unscrews. The default closure, and the one the minimum and tooling assumptions already cover. |
| Flip | A lid that opens by a thumb action rather than a thread, one-handed. |
| Straw | A drinking route through a straw, which needs its own bore and its own sealing. |
| Spout | A shaped pour-and-sip opening, usually under a cap that also closes. |
| Handle | A moulded carry feature on the cap, for bodies above 750ml. |
| Car-cup | A vehicle cup interface: a lid that mates with a dashboard holder. |
| Bite valve | A bite-through valve for soft drink bottles, which changes the body as well as the cap. |
A configuration that is not on this list is not refused — it is quoted. Some of them change the body rather than the cap, so they are developed and priced separately.
Materials
| Part | Material | Why it is on this list |
|---|---|---|
| Gaskets and seals | Nylon + Silicone | The part that decides whether a leak-proof claim holds. It is the first thing specified and the first thing tested. |
| Straw and spout inserts | Food-grade PP / BPA-free plastic | The drinking surface, and the part a buyer checks a declaration for. |
| Lids and closures | Food-grade PP, BPA-Free Tritan | The body of the cap, where stiffness and impact matter. |
| Liner, where a body is lined | 316L stainless steel liner | For bodies that carry an acidic drink rather than water. |
| Body, where a lighter body is specified | Aluminum body, food-grade liner | A weight and hand-feel route, with the liner keeping the drinking surface steel. |
The body itself is 18/8 (304) stainless steel across the range, with the other body materials used where a weight or a lining calls for them. The declaration you are given covers the item number it was issued against.

Questions
The gasket, not the cap. A silicone-sealed spout under a screw cap is a system, and cheap sip lids tend to fail after a few hundred cycles because the seal is the first thing specified and the first thing cut. Tell us the use — a bag, a desk, a gym — and the gasket is specified for it.
Yes, and it is counted separately against the minimum: the minimum runs per colour per model, and changing the lid colour starts a new count just as changing the body colour does. If the launch is near its minimum, that is worth knowing before the colour range is fixed.
Car-cup is one of the configurations the range is specified from, and it is a lid that mates with a dashboard holder rather than a cap that seals a body. Tell us the vehicle interface you are targeting and we will confirm the geometry.
It can, but it changes the body as well as the cap, so it is developed and quoted separately from the standard lid range rather than treated as an accessory swap.
