Full ODM

Full ODM Development

The route where the structure is new. What each stage delivers, what it costs to get there, and how it differs from decorating something we already tooling.

Not sure which of these applies? Start from the whole range

The Decision

Two Routes, Not One Product With Options

RouteWhat is newWhat it means commercially
Standard customisationThe decoration. Colour, finish, lid and logo on a body we already tool. The published minimum starts from 500 pieces per colour, and standard sampling and production windows apply.
Full ODM developmentThe structure. A new body shape, and the tooling to make it.A higher minimum, and the tooling cost and the production cost are invoiced as two separate payments rather than one.

The published rule is that fully bespoke structures requiring new moulds carry a higher minimum, quoted clearly against your target quantity. Nothing on this page is a quotation: the number comes back against the drawing.

The Pipeline

Six Stages, From A Sketch To A Pallet

01

Concept Input

A sketch, a reference product or a photograph of something you have seen. What matters at this stage is the shape and the use, not the decoration — the mark comes later and costs nothing to move.

02

Digital Mockup

The concept rendered on a body you can recognise, with your own mark on it. This is where a direction is chosen, and choosing it here costs a render rather than a tool.

03

Design & Engineering Proposal

The written proposal: wall thickness, lid interface, decoration route and what each decision costs you in the long run. This document is what the programme is built against, and it is the point to raise anything that has to be agreed later.

04

3D Model & Prototype

A physical prototype of the actual geometry. Screens lie about edges and corners; a prototype in the hand does not, and it is far cheaper to change a prototype than a tool.

05

Tooling & Production Setup

The tooling is built and set, and the production line is configured to the specification. Tooling is invoiced as its own payment because it is an asset that outlives a single order.

06

Mass Production & Delivery

Production against the approved golden sample, with inspection before shipment and the documents that travel with the goods. The sample is the specification; the run is measured against it.

Each stage is a gate. The stage after it does not start until the one before it is signed, and the signed artefact is what the next stage is built against — which is why a development programme feels slower than a decoration order and is far cheaper to get right than a correction order.

What You Receive

Documents Come Out Of Development, Not Out Of Marketing

StageWhat you getWhat it is used for
Digital MockupThe concept rendered on the body you pick, with your own mark on it.Deciding the direction before any tooling is committed.
Design & Engineering ProposalThe written proposal, with the structure and the reasoning behind it.The document the programme is built against.
3D Model & PrototypeA physical prototype of the actual geometry.Checking the thing in the hand, not on a screen.
Sample ApprovalA signed sample, and the golden sample the run is measured against. The specification for mass production.
Mass Production & DeliveryProduction against the golden sample, with inspection before shipment. The goods, and the paperwork that travels with them.

Test reports are issued against the actual product and model number, not against a similar one. That is the difference between a document a compliance team can use and one they have to send back, and it is why the model number is settled before the run rather than after.

The Money

Tooling Is Invoiced Separately From Production

What is invoicedWhenWhy it is separate
ToolingBefore the production run, as its own payment.Tooling is an asset that outlives one order. Invoicing it separately is what makes it legible as one.
ProductionOn the published terms: a deposit by T/T with the balance against the bill-of-lading copy.Production cost is per order and moves with quantity, finish and decoration.
Letters of creditAccepted for larger programmes.Terms depend on the kind of order, and the structure that applies is confirmed in the quotation before you commit.

No tooling figure is printed on this page. A tooling cost follows the geometry, the steel and the number of cavities, so it is quoted against the drawing — a number on a page would be a number for a different product.

On The Floor

The finished wall, once a development programme has run.

Raw tube and sheet stacked at the goods-in door
01It starts as tube, not as a bottle.
A vacuum chamber on the fabrication floor
02Tooling that has to hold vacuum, for one programme.
A body being welded on the fabrication line
03Where a prototype becomes a repeatable part.

Questions

ODM Questions

What buyers ask before committing to a development programme.
How long does a full ODM programme take?

It is quoted per programme rather than given as a standard window, because the development work differs in each case. What is published and holds either way: standard sampling is 3 to 7 days once the specification is confirmed, and standard mass production runs 10 to 25 days from sample approval and a cleared deposit.

What does tooling cost?

It is quoted against the drawing, because the figure follows the geometry, the steel and the number of cavities. We will not put a range on a page, because a range on a page is a range for somebody else's product. Send the sketch or the reference and the number comes back with the proposal.

Can I start with a smaller run before committing to the tooling?

If the structure can be built on existing tooling, the published minimum starts from 500 pieces per colour, and a smaller trial run may be possible — tell us the quantity you are actually working to and we will say. If it genuinely needs new moulds, the minimum is higher and we quote it clearly against your target quantity.

Who owns the mould afterwards?

That is a term of the development agreement rather than a page on a website, and it is written down before production starts. Bring it up at proposal stage, which is the point where it is cheapest to agree.
